Juan's extensive technical background spans nearly 27 years in the power/energy sector. He has worked in multiple areas and companies, including application engineering, studies engineering, and field support engineering. Prior to joining MKI, Juan worked at Southern California Edison for 20 years, where he served in multiple engineering and leadership roles. As a leader, Juan served as Senior Manager of Substation Apparatus, Senior Manager of Distribution Apparatus, and most recently as Principal Manager of Grid Technology Innovation.

Juan is an IEEE member and a former member of the Association of Edison Illuminating Companies (AEIC), where he served as the chair of the Electric Apparatus Committee (EPAC). Juan’s second passion is teaching and learning from his students; he serves as part-time faculty in power systems at California State University Long Beach, Cal Poly Pomona, and UCLA.
